Acid washing

Most concrete pools are surfaced in plaster. This plaster is a porous material and as such stains over a period of a few years due to organic matter, black algae and calcification. Upon inspecting the plaster thickness it is likely that the staining on your pool can be removed with an acid wash. The process involves draining the pool and then stripping off a thin layer of plaster by coating it with a muriatic acid mixture. This process results in fresh clean plaster underneath. Results from acid wash to acid wash vary based on the degree of staining and type of staining. Call us for a consultation to see if acid washing your pool is the best course of action.
